Siting Guidlines

The Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Growth has developed local land use guidelines for siting wind energy systems. These are supplemented by a 2007 Michigan State University Extension Bulletin which explains some of the most common land use issues related to wind energy system installation. It provides references to the most recent science behind the issues. About two dozen Michigan jurisdictions have laws specific to wind turbine developments.
