Kalamazoo County in located east of Van Buren County. Most of the fruit production is located on the western edge of the county. Grapes, apples and tart cherries are the main fruit crops grown in the county. Fruit production in Kalamazoo County is declining as fruit farms are converted to housing by the expansion of the City of Kalamazoo. There is also the Peterson and Sons Winery in Eastern Kalamazoo County. Because of grape acreage in Kalamazoo County there is a retriction on using the ester form of 2,4-D in many parts of the county.
