GROUNDWATER Who is your Groundwater Technician?
The Groundwater Technician for Van Buren and Allegan Counties is Josh
Appleby. He works out of the Van Buren Conservation District Office (616-657-4030)
typically Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and the Allegan District Office
(616-673-8965) Thursdays. Josh is a graduate of Western Michigan University with a B.S. in
Environmental Resources Management, and started with the District in June of 1998.
Your Groundwater Technician is available to answer questions about groundwater, pesticide
storage and handling, fuel storage, cost-share, and proper techniques to close unused
wells. If you are interested in receiving cost-share for best management practices, having
an unused well closed, need a speaker for your meeting to discuss groundwater issues
and/or the Michigan Groundwater Stewardship Program, want to have a farmstead or a
