An Approaching Cold Front. Cold air is forcing warmer air up over it. The rising warm humid air cools and cold air condenses into a solid linear 'Wall Cloud'.
The cold front passes overhead. You can see the smooth cloud created by the rise of the warm air. Below and behind it are the turbulent clouds in the advances cold air mass.

Wind can be a big problem. Blowing tree over, breaking limbs or
damaging the plant, allowing diseases such as fire blight to enter the plant
It is unusual to get snow in April when the fruit trees are blooming.
