Family Nutrition Program



Family2.gif (4054 bytes)The Family Nutrition Program is an educational program provided by Michigan State University Extension. It is designed to strengthen the nutrition and budgeting skills of those either currently receiving or eligible for food stamps or participate in the cash-out program.

Topics covered include:

- Basic Nutrition
- Meal Planning
- Food Shopping
- Food Preparation
- Food Safety
- Financial Budgeting (Family Financial Packet available upon request)
- Community Resources

Benefits of the Family Nutrition Program:

- Educational sessions take place in group settings at community sites or private consultations in the home.
- Educational Nutrition Series in Schools
- Nutrition instructors trained to assist all family

Upon completion participants will receive a certificate. Also, for completing sessions, participants will receive a complimentary cookbook.
