Council
Meeting Minutes
September 7, 2005
Meeting was called to order by James Jonatzke at 6:55 PM. All
members are present.
The July and August meeting minutes were read and approved. Melva Thayer made motion to
approve the July minutes. Seconded by Ken T. Motion carried. Ken T. made
motion to approve the August minutes. Seconded by Janet Tripp. Motion carried.
Treasurers report was read and a motion was made by Melva DeVries to approve the report.
Seconded by Janet Tripp. Motion carried.
Old Business-
State Horse Show, Ken T. made motion to pay state kids $10.00. Seconded by
Janet Tripp. Motion carried.
Ken T. will also check into a stamp for the state kids to cash their checks for 60-90
days.
Trophy replacements are being worked on by Melva Thayer and Jimmy Hollis. A motion was
made by Ken T. to have Melva T. and Jimmy H. work on this and pick out the trophies.
Seconded by Janet T. Motion carried.
Janice R. brought in fund-raiser information in to discuss (calendar sales).
Terri N. brought in 2x4 banners from Rod's printing. Our cost would be $50.00.
The banner will be white and it can have color text. Janet T. will work on
flyer and order form. Janice R. needs fund-raiser reports. Ken T. and Janet T. will
work on this.
Horse quiz bowl will be on our turf. Janice R. and Janet T. are working on the
location. We will also have the tack sale in conjunction with the quiz bowl.
The Hippology team was asked to have an information table at the tack sale.
New Business-
Rusty T. mentioned that the Methodist Church has declined the use of the kitchen
during fair week. Does the Horse Council want to take this job on as a fund-raiser?
A committee was formed to discuss if we can take on the kitchen. Committee is
made of : Melva Thayer-Melva DeVries-Iris S.
Meeting adjourned at 8:20 PM motion made by Janet T. Seconded by Ken T. Motion
Carried.
