Meeting Minutes
March 1, 2006

The meeting was called to order by Vice President Janet Tripp at 7:00 PM at the Lawrence Conference Center.
Attendees:  Janice Zerbe, Ron DeVries, Melva DeVries, Nancy Wheatley, Shannon Hoyt, Melva Thayer, Casey Tripp, Ken Tomsa, Terri Novotny, Kevin Novotny, Janet Tripp, Lizbeth Termeer, Vicki Sue Hickmott, Cathy Mead, Bonnie Hummel, Vanessa Pentridge and Wendy Fisher.

Meeting minutes from the previous meeting were approved as presented.  MMSC Casey and Nancy.

The treasurer's report was approved as presented.  MMSC Melva T & Nancy

Bills and Correspondence
The Quiz Bowl team coach (Marianne Smith) requested that the HC pay the entry fee for the State Quiz Bowl Competition to be held in April.  The fee is $12.00 per youth, 5 youth all together for a total of $60.00.  MMSC Melva T & Nancy.

Bill presented for 54.70 by Shannon Hoyt for running the ad in the reminder for the Tack Swap.   MMSC Kenny & Janet

Janet to send a thank you to the baker and Melva D to send a thank you to Wesco for their donation to the Tack Swap.

Committee Reports:  The April 12th meeting will be mandatory for all Leaders and Club Reps.  The rule changes were discussed and approved as presented.  These rules and the by laws will be handed out to all club reps at this April meeting.  The two work days for the State Show Qualifier applicants are May 13th and June 25th.  Melva Thayer proposed a $15.00 application fee for all State Show applicants due with all other paperwork on May 1st.  MMSC Kenny & Vicki Sue.  Grounds committee has nothing to report as of yet, but when the weather breaks, there will be plenty. 

Old Business:  The Tack Sale and Quiz Bowl ran very smoothly and Janice thanked everyone for all the help during the quiz Bowl as it was quite an undertaking.  The profit breakdown for the Tack Sale is:  Food Booth - $491.95, Door and Tables - $807.66.  MSU office paid $75.00 (tonight) for hosting the Quiz Bowl.  Total $ made:  $1374.61.

New Business:  Kenny counted the horse show ribbons, Terri will place the order for replacements and full sets as noted by the count.  Melva T moved that we allow payment of the bill to Terri as presented to Kenny so that they can be ordered on her charge card.  MMSC Melva T and Kenny.  We will have sign-up sheets for food and workers for the horse show.  The Barn Superintendents will present barn assignments as soon as the counts are complete.  Melva T is to have the fair week workers assignments ready for the April meeting as well.

Announcements:   Willow Tree will be having a fun show on April 23rd.  Everyone is invited. 

Reminder:   April meeting is the 12th at the Conference Center.
