Meeting Minutes
January 4, 2006
The meeting was called to order by President James
Jonatzke at 7:06 pm at the Lawrence Conference Center.
Attendees: Janice Zerbe, Ron DeVries, Melva DeVries, Nancy Wheatley, Shannon Hoyt, Melva Thayer, Tammy Dykstra, Leslie Papesh, Casey Tripp, Rusty Tripp, Ken Tomsa, James Jonatzke, Katie Jonatzke, Terri Novotny, Kevin Novotny, Kelsi Brinks and Janet Tripp.
Meeting minutes from the previous meeting were approved as presented.
The treasurer's report was approved as presented.
Checking balance: $2312.04
Savings #1 balance: $505.49
Savings #2 balance: $2094.26
Total in all accounts: $4906.79
Old Business- Three tables have been sold for the tack swap, flyers have been distributed to Belle Feeds, Chad's Tack and the Tack Box has also shown interest in the tack sale.
Jennifer Chandler reports that her club will provide a check for the food booth, rather than donate items. All other clubs were requested to donate items as well as round up some volunteers.
The Scholarship Application form was also discussed. The form was approved with the changes as noted: "Please return to a horse council representative prior to the closest meeting before the event." Please also note that submission for reimbursement is subject to approval based upon available funds. MMSC Melva Thayer, Ken Tomsa.
Rusty and Kenny will be checking into additional lighting around the horse arena. We have two poles and four lights now and Kenny will check with the South Haven Village Market about additional poles in case they're needed.
Rusty will check on getting pricing for paving from the draft horse area to the horse area, he will work with Louie G.
Janet brought up that the MAWHC is now charging a one time fee for clubs that are hosting shows for them. There was also discussion regarding MA's requirement to approve all judges before putting them on the show bills as well as approving the show bills themselves. Janet and Val will go to the meeting, Melva Thayer will try to attend as well. This group will come back to the February meeting with further information.
New Business- Janet reminded us that Quiz Bowl will be coming up and that Marianne will want money for entry fees. Kelley Hiemstra is also trying to get a team together.

March meeting will be, Wednesday, March 1st, 2006 at
7:00 pm at the Lawrence Conference Center.
Please note: The April meeting will be held April 12th at the Lawrence Conference Center due to Spring Break closing.
