Meeting Minutes
January 3, 2005

The meeting was called to order by President L. Godines at 7:05 p.m.  Directors present:  L. Godines, M. Godines, Rainey, DeVries, Dorr, Garrod, D. Glover, M. Glover, Popp, and Serdel.   Tripp arrived at 7:15 pm.  Blackwell was excused.  Guests included:  Melva DeVries, Janice Rajzer, Dave & Tricia Streich and Todd Sollman.

Sec. Godines read the December 6th minutes.  They were accepted as read. 

Corr:  Godines sent a Thank You to the Eliason Foundation for the annual $300.00 donation.  We received a Thank You note from Justin Ives for purchasing his rabbit meat pen at the fair.  Christmas Cards were received from Terry Slaggert, Best Way Disposal and Don's Concessions.

Treas. Rainey reviewed the Profit and Loss Statement and Balance sheet.  Motion by M. Godines, supported by Popp to accept the report.  Motion carried.  Rainey presented the bills to be paid in the amount of $1,237.00.  Motion by DeVries, supported by G. Blackwell to pay the bills.   Motion carried.  

Old Business:  Premier Animal Attractions sent some requirements for their display at the fair.  They would like a 40'x80' tent, plus space for parking the trailer and truck.  Issue to be discussed with Outside Concessions and Grounds Supt. for actual set-up of display.  Rainey to mail requested down payment of contract to them.

Rainey has not heard anything regarding out 501.C3 papers.  Sec. Godines mailed the documents on Dec. 7, 2004.

DeVries contacted Jerry the Wood Carver.   He will be sending a contract for signing.  Questions were asked if we would take Silent Auction Bids on the carved statues.  Dorr will review this before the fair.

Janice Rajzer reported that the Miniature Horses are included in the Michigan State 4-H Horse Show this year.  Rajzer to organize this event since the classes will not be printed in the Premium book.

New Business:  Todd Sollman from the South Haven Jay Dees would like to have an Industrial Arts Project/General Machining Class added to the Premium Book.  Sollman and Rajzer to discuss and turn in classes to M. Godines by March 1st.

Godines will contact John Faul, Cty. Administrator regarding the lease payment on the phone tower.

Popp reported that he would like to have some electricity run in the ceiling of the Maintenance Building before they install the metal.  Popp to meet with Godines.

Melva DeVries reported that she has Trophy Sponsor Awards Forms available.

R. Tripp reported that he and Fred Brooks from MI Pavers measured for paving at the grounds.  Proposed scheduled date for paving is May 4th, 2005.

Motion by Dorr supported by M. Glover to adjourn.  Motion carried.  Meeting adjourned at 8:15 pm.

Next regular meeting:  Monday, February 7, 2005, at 7:00 p.m. at the Lawrence Conference Center.
