MSU Extension is an approved child care provider training organization. Classes meet the State of Michigan licensing requirements for training. CEU's may be available. Pre-registration is required. Minimum of 15 participants must be pre-registered or the class may be cancelled. Classes cancelled due to bad weather will be rescheduled.
Are you a Day Care Aide or Relative Care Provider? You may be eligible to receive a one-time $150 incentive if you complete 18 hours of approved training. You may be eligible if you are registered with the Department of Human Services, provide care for DHS eligible children for at least 90 days, and submit an application with 6 pay stubs from the Department of Human Services. Video-based learning kits are available from our lending library. These kits cover a wide range of topics and allow learning at the participant's own pace. These videos can be viewed with a group. Earn up to four hours of training toward the state requirements. With each video participants will need to complete a short essay involving two quesitons and a short evaluation which will need to be returned with the video. Better
Kid Care Video List
Borrow video-based learning kits from our lending libraries. These kits cover
a wide range of topics and allow learning at the participants' own pace. The
majority of videos are VHS tapes, with some DVDs, and can be viewed with a group.
With each video, participants will need to complete a short essay and a short
evaluation which will need to be returned with the video. A certificate of completion
will be mailed to participant. Each video is worth 2 training hours. Video Learning
Kits may be picked up at the following MSU Extension Offices, Monday - Friday,
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.: Barry, Eaton, Ionia, and Ingham. Beginning May 1, 2007
