Comments: Gambel Oak can be a small tree or large shrub.
The leaves have deep lobes and are lighter green on the
lower surface. The bark has deep fissures and is gray to
reddish brown. The plant is usually found growing in dry,
well-drained soils with sunny exposures. It is native to
the western U.S.
