Picea sitchensis--Sitka Spruce

Comments: Sitka Spruce is a large vigorous tree when given
proper growing conditions. Those conditions include a moist
soil and a humid atmosphere. The tree does poorly in drier
climates. The needles are dark green and have two bluish-
white bands on the lower surface.
Cultivars:
'Papoose' ('Tenas') - A slow-growing, plant reaching a
height and spread of 4 feet (Vis. 1).
