Comments: This relatively rare spruce is native to Japan.
The foliage is bluish-green and has lighter lines of
stomata. The cones are about 4 inches long and the bark has
a pinkish cast to it but is basically brown. The crown is
usually fairly dense and the branches are slightly
ascending.
Cultivars:
'Howell's Dwarf' - A dwarf form (Vis. 2) that has bluish
foliage (Vis. 1).
'Prostrata' - A prostrate, spreading plant.
