Bletilla striata--Chinese Ground Orchid

Flowers: Purple, white
Comments: Chinese Ground Orchid produces white or purple
flowers. Provide a growing area with a moist soil and
partial shade. The plant is only reliably hardy in warmer
areas. It is listed as hardy to zone 5 but if tried it will
need winter protection. Other alternatives are to dig up
the pseudobulbs or grow the plant in pots.
