Ornamental Plants plus Version 3.0 - 00002232
11/12/99
Angelica gigas--Korean Angelica
Hardiness Zones: 4 to 8
Height: 5 ft Spread: 4 ft
Type: herbaceous perennial
Flowers: Purple
Comments: Korean Angelica is a large plant (Vis. 1) but may
be short-lived. The purple flowers appear in late summer
and are attractive to butterflies. The plant produces large
numbers of seeds and so volunteer plants could be a problem.
Provide a partially shaded growing area. The large leaves
give the plant a coarse texture.
Propagation: Seed is easiest but they need light to
germinate.
