Verbascum chaixii--Nettle-leaved Mullein

Type: herbaceous perennial
Flowers: Yellow, white

Comments: Nettle-leaved Mullein bears spikes of yellow
flowers in early summer. Each floret has a cluster of
purple stamen at its center. The green leaves are hairy.
Provide a sunny growing area with a well-drained soil.
Groups of seed grown plants will often contain seedlings
that produce white flowers.

Cultivars: The plants listed below are a combination of
other species and hybrids.
'Helen Johnson' - Yellow flowers.
phoenicium - A species with red to purple flowers,
sometimes other colors.
x 'Royal Highland' - The flowers are apricot-yellow.
