Flowers: Purple

Comments: As its name implies, this Liatris is native to
the Great Plains. Provide a sunny growing area with a
well-drained soil. The plant is found in moist areas in
the wild but a wet soil in winter will prove to be fatal.
Flowering occurs in mid to late summer. When removing
spent flowers, leave the leafy portion of the stalk.

Propagation: Division in early spring.
