Comments: Black Mondo Grass is similar in appearance to
Liriope. The spikes of flowers are borne in late summer.
The plant spreads and is a suitable choice for use as a
ground cover. The long narrow leaves are about 15 inches
long. The plant is usually present in landscapes in the
form of one of its black-leaved cultivars.
Cultivars:
'Ebknizam' (Ebony Knight TM) - A black leaved cultivar
with dark lavender flowers (Vis. 1).
'Nigrescens' - Black leaves (Vis. 2) and pink flowers
