Comments: The main ornamental trait of this vigorous vine
is the ornamental blue fruit. The fruit (Vis. 2) change
from yellow, through shades of purple, to eventually become
blue. Porcelain berry has no particular soil preference.
Cultivars:
'Elegans' - The young leaves (Vis. 1) are white tinged
with pink but become green with white variegations at
maturity.
var. maximowiczii - The dark green leaves are deeply
lobed.
