Actinidia arguta--Bower Actinidia

Hardiness Zones: 3 to 7
Height: 25 ft Spread: 25 ft Form: variable
Type: vine
Annual Growth Rate: more than 18 inches
Flowers: White
Fruit: Green

Comments: This dioecious vine is often suggested as a
substitute for the true kiwi. Both male and female vines
must be grown in order to obtain fruit. The fragrant,
white flowers are followed by green, hairless, edible
fruit. The plant tolerates a range of growing conditions
and requires regular pruning.

Cultivars:
'Anna' - ('Ananasnaya') A female cultivar.
'Issai' - A self pollinating cultivar. If grown in the
presence of a male vine the fruit will be larger,
more numerous and have seeds. Otherwise fewer,
smaller fruit will be produced but they will be
seedless.
