Viburnum dentatum--Arrowwood

Type: deciduous shrub
Annual Growth Rate: 12 to 18 inches
Flowers: white flowers
Fruits: dark blue
Comments: Arrowwood produces 2- to 4-inch clusters of
small, white flowers (Vis. 7) in late spring. Small, dark
blue fruits (Vis. 8) are produced in late summer and are
eaten by birds. The fall color (Vis. 6) is red to reddish
purple.
Cultivars:
'Morton' - (Vis. 1) (Northern Burgundy TM) - Another
selection reaching a height and spread of about 12
feet. The fall color (Vis. 2) is a blend of wine red
and burgundy.
'Perle Bleu' - A good winter display of blue fruits.
'Ralph Senior' - (Autumn Jazz(R)) - A vase-shaped plant
(Vis. 3) with pendulous foliage and red leaf petioles.
The fall color (Vis. 4) is a combination of yellow,
orange, red and burgundy.
'Synnestvedt' - (Chicago Lustre TM) - A shrub reaching
a height and spread of 10- to 15-feet and becoming
upright, rounded in habit (Vis. 5).
