Comments: The fragrant flowers (Vis. 2) of Burkwood Viburnum
are borne in 2- to 3-inch rounded clusters. The glossy, 4-
inch leaves (Vis. 3) persist into winter and give the plant
a medium texture. Burkwood's parents are V. carlesi and V.
utile.
Cultivars:
'Chenaultii' - Slightly larger than x burkwoodii but
otherwise similar.
'Mohawk' - The dark red flower buds appear several
weeks prior to opening (Vis. 1). A backcross to V.
carlesi.
