Thalictrum aquilegifolium--Columbine Meadow Rue
Hardiness Zones: 5 to 8
Height: 36 in Spread: 18 in
Type: herbaceous perennial
Flowers: Blue, pink, white
Comments: Provide Columbine Meadow Rue with a growing area
that has a moist soil and exposure to sun or partial
shade. Flowering occurs in late spring or summer with the
flowers borne on long stems in open clusters. The
prominent stamens give the flowers a fluffy looking
appearance. Because of their size, the plants are best
used at the back of most flower beds. In areas with
severe winters, winter protection is suggested. New
plants or divisions may take 2 or 3 years to bloom
heavily.
Propagation: Division or seed are suggested methods.
Division is best done in the spring.
