Comments: Although the species can be very large, most
landscape forms are smaller cultivars. The plant can be
grown in shade but it will not be as dense. This Yew is
not as hardy as the other species. Only female plants
will produce the red fruits.

Cultivars:
'Adpressa Aurea' - The young shoots are yellow.
'Amersforte' - The needles are flattened and oval. A
slow-growing plant with stiff, spreading branches.
'Cheshuntensis' - A narrow and columnar plant with
silvery green needles and red fruit.
'Fowle' - A compact, wide plant with an annual growth
rate of 3 to 6 inches. Usually twice as wide as it is
high.
'Repandens' - A wide, low-spreading plant (Vis. 1) with
dark green foliage.
'Standishii' - An upright, slow-growing cultivar with
yellow foliage.
'Washingtonii' - The new growth is golden-yellow
becoming light green with age. A slow-growing, globe
shaped plant.
