Comments: A useful shrub for planting along streams. When
the plant becomes overgrown rejuvenate it by cutting it
back to the ground. Willows are problem-prone plants that
require more care than other shrubs.
Cultivars:
'Gracilis' - A 6-foot plant with slender leaves and
twigs.
'Nana' - (Dwarf Arctic Willow) - A 5 foot tall shrub
with bluish foliage (Vis. 1). During the winter the
bark is purplish.
'Pendula' - A weeping form with silvery-blue foliage
and purplish red stems.
'Streamco' - A 10-foot tall shrub that grows fast and
thrives in wet soils.
