Ranunculus asiaticus

Flowers: Orange, pink, red, white, yellow (Vis. 1).
Comments: Ranunculus is grown in full sun or partial shade
and in light soil. The flowers (Vis. 2) are produced in a
large variety of colors and resemble small camellias. The
plants benefit from weekly applications of liquid fertilizer
when the flower stalks appear.
Propagation: Plant the tubers in the spring, 2 to 3 inches
deep and 4 to 5 inches apart. Dig them when the foliage
dies down in the fall and store them in sand or peat in a
frost free place. The tuberous roots may be divided.
