Pinus flexilis--Limber Pine

Height: 40 ft Spread: 25 ft Form: (Vis. 1) pyramidal
Type: narrow-leaved evergreen tree
Annual Growth Rate: less than 12 inches

Comments: Limber Pine is a native of western North
America. It resembles P. strobus with its soft, bluish-
green foliage (Vis. 3) and smooth greenish bark on the
twigs. A suitable landscape pine for cold climates.

Cultivars:
'Extra Blue' - A pyramidal, fast-growing tree with
bluish foliage (Vis. 4).
'Firmament' ('Glauca') - Bluish foliage.
'Glauca Pendula' - A vigorous form that forms a broad,
irregular, tall ground cover. The foliage is bluish.
'Nana' - A bushy dwarf.
'Pendula' - A spreading, vigorous tree with bluish
foliage (Vis. 5).
'Temple' - An upright open tree when young, becoming
more dense with age.
'Vanderwolf's Pyramid' - A pyramidal form (Vis. 1) with
ascending branches that becomes broader with age.
