Phoenix roebelinii--Date Palm
Type: house plant
Comments: Date Palm requires a medium light intensity or
indirect sunlight. Keep the soil moist except in winter
when it can be a little drier. Use a dilute liquid
fertilizer once a week in summer. The plant can get
fairly large and requires a temperature range of from 60
to 85 degrees. If repotting is needed do so in March.
Sponge the leaves regularly to remove dust. The leaf tips
may turn brown under low humidity.
Propagation: Propagation is by offsets removed and potted
in spring or summer.
