Muscari spp.--Grape Hyacinth

Type: hardy bulb
Flowers: Blue, white
Comments: Grape Hyacinth bears purple (Vis. 1) or white
flowers resembling upside down grape clusters. The plants
benefit from bone meal applied at planting and after
blooming. They are easy to grow and adapt to any
well-drained soil in sun to shade. The flowers last longer
in partial shade. The leaves may start growth in the fall.
Plant the bulbs 3 inches deep.
Propagation: The bulbs may be divided in the fall and
replanted immediately.
Cultivars:
armeniacum 'Blue Spike' - Double, blue flowers.
botryoides 'Album' - Pure white flowers.
