Maranta - Prayer Plant
Type: house plant
Comments: Prayer Plant leaves (Vis. 1) fold up at night
hence the common name. Provide medium or bright light but
not direct sun. Use a well-drained soil kept evenly moist.
When plants rest in winter keep the soil drier. Use an
equal analysis fertilizer every 2 weeks except when the
plant is resting. Ideal temperatures are between 60 and
85 degrees. Dry air will be a problem in winter. Repot
in February or March if needed.
Propagation: Propagation is by division, after the plant
comes out of its rest period.
