Comments: Star Magnolia is a small tree (Vis. 2) or large
shrub. The white flowers (Vis. 3) are produced in spring
before the leaves appear, even on young plants. The flowers
can be injured by late spring frosts and wind.

Cultivars:
'Centennial' - The flowers are white with a slight
tinge of pink on the outside.
'Pink Star' - Large masses of pink flowers.
'Pink Stardust' - The pink flowers have many petals.
'Royal Star' - The pink buds open to large white
flowers (Vis. 1).
'Waterlily' - The pink buds open to fragrant white
flowers having a pink flush.
