Comments: Anise Magnolia has leaves narrower than those of
other magnolias. The fragrant white flowers (Vis. 2) are
borne in early spring and so may be killed by frost. The
fruit are pink with scarlet seeds as is typical of other
magnolias. The stems give off a lemon scent when bruised.
The pyramidal habit becomes irregular with age.
