Linum narbonense--Narbonne Flax

Comments: This flax bears blue flowers June through
August. The flowers are about an inch across and are
somewhat larger than those of L. perenne. It prefers a
sunny location and a moist, sandy, well-drained loam. In
cold climates be sure to provide a mulch for winter
protection. The plants tend to be short-lived. Cut the
plants to a height of about 8 inches after they flower.

Propagation: Propagation is by seed or division. The seed
germinates in 3 to 4 weeks at temperatures between 65 and
75 degrees. Flowering will not occur until the second
season. The plants may be divided in the spring or fall.

Cultivars:
'Heavenly Blue' - Flowers bright blue.
