Annual Growth Rate: 12 to 18 inches
Comments: Japanese Larch is the fastest growing larch.
The young shoots have a reddish coloration. The tree
looks like a needled evergreen, but it is deciduous and
drops its needles (Vis. 2) after displaying yellow fall
color. Avoid high pH or dry soils.
Cultivars:
'Blue Dwarf' - A low, slow-growing plant with bluish
foliage.
'Blue Rabbit' - A cone-shaped plant with blue foliage.
'Diana' - Contorted branches and foliage.
'Haverbeck' - A low, wide plant.
'Pendula' - Weeping form.
