Comments: Carolina Silverbell is a small tree that grows
best in sun or semi-shade and a rich, acid, well-drained
soil. Carolina silverbell is short-lived, grows slowly
and is easy to transplant. The plant tolerates pruning
and is useful in shrub or woodland borders. The white,
bell-shaped flowers (Vis. 1) are produced in mid-spring.
The flowers, produced with or before the leaves, are
sometimes tinged pink.
Cultivars:
'Rosea' - Flowers are light pink.
