Comments: This large plant is useful at the back of the
border. It is tolerant of almost boggy conditions and so
can be used in wet areas. The 9- to 12-inch flower
clusters are borne in mid-summer with a possible repeat in
late summer. The plants are long-lived and grow best in
full sun to partial shade. A native of North America.

Propagation: Propagate by seed or division.

Cultivars:
'Venusta' - Flowers are dark pink.
