Deutzia gracilis--Slender Deutzia
Hardiness Zones: 4 to 8
Height: 3 ft Spread: 3 ft Form: mounded
Type: deciduous shrub
Annual Growth Rate: less than 12
Flowers: White
Comments: Slender Deutzia grows in sun, partial shade or
shade, but shade reduces blooming. It is a slow-growing,
mound-shaped shrub (Vis. 1) that stays low naturally and
transplants well. The white flowers (Vis. 2) are produced
in mid-spring after the leaves develop. The plant does not
tolerate much pruning and blooms poorly if overly pruned.
Cultivars:
'Monzia' (Pink-a-Boo TM) - A six foot shrub that bears
pink flowers.
