Comments: Kansas Hawthorn produces ornamental flowers,
fruit, and fall color. The newly emerged leaves have a
reddish tint then turn orange-red in the fall. The white,
three-quarter inch flowers (Vis. 3), in clusters of 5 or 6
blooms, are borne in May and have pink stamens. The red
fruits (Vis. 2) follow the flowers. Branch spines are about
one and a half inches long.
