Comments: Cornelian Cherry is a small tree or (Vis. 3) large
shrub. The yellow flowers (Vis. 4) are produced in very
early spring when few other woody plants are in bloom. The
red fruit (Vis. 5) is edible and is partially hidden by the
leaves. The fall color is red.

Cultivars:
'Aurea' - New foliage is yellow, becoming yellow-green.
'Golden Glory' - More upright and free flowering than the
species, best used as a small tree (Vis. 1).
'Redstone' - Heavy fruit production, dense habit.
'Variegata' - The green leaves (Vis. 2) have white
borders.
