Coleus x hybridus--Coleus

Height: 24 in Spacing: 12 in
Type: annual
Foliage: Green, orange, pink, red, white, yellow

Comments: Coleus is grown for its brightly colored leaves.
The plant grows in sun to partial shade and requires a lot
of water. Pinch young plants or older, leggy plants to
encourage branching. Coleus may be used as a potted
plant. Remove flower spikes as they appear. Cold wet
soils and poor cultural practices can result in leaf drop.

Propagation: Coleus is propagated by seed and cuttings.
Cuttings as short as 2 inches can be taken from newly
grown shoots. The seed germinates in 10 to 14 days at 70
to 75 degrees. Light stimulates germination so seed
should not be covered. Set plants outside after the
weather has warmed.

Cultivars:
'Black Dragon'
'Carefree Series'
'Fiji Red' (Vis. 1).
'Red Rainbow'
'Solar Sunrise' - Yellow, red and green leaves
'Trailing Red' - Burgundy leaves have green margins.
'Wizard Series' (Vis. 2).
