Fruits: Black, green, orange, red, yellow
Comments: The brightly colored fruits (Vis. 1) of this
annual are its main ornamental trait. These vary in shape
from oblong to long, narrow, and curved. Some have purple
foliage. The fruits, although edible, may be very hot
when eaten. They may be eaten fresh or they can be dried.
Propagation: Start the seed indoors 6 to 8 weeks before
the desired outdoor planting date. Do not cover the seed.
