Amaryllis belladonna--Belladonna Lily

Height: 30 in Spacing: 12 in
Type: tender bulb
Flowers: Pink

Comments: These unusual plants send up leaves in the
spring. In summer, the bulb sends up a tall stalk that is
topped with pink flowers. Plant the bulbs 4 inches deep
in well-drained soil and in a sunny growing area. The
plant is poisonous. Belladonna Lily also adapts to
container culture. Dig the bulbs before frost and store
them in damp peat moss or sand during the winter.

Propagation: Separate the bulblets from larger bulbs at
planting.

Cultivars:
'Summer Maid' - Cultivar is actually x Amarcrinum
memoria-corsii, a hybrid between A. belladonna and
Crinum moorei. The pink flowers are similar to A.
belladonna and are produced in the autumn. The plant
is also called x Crinodonna in some references.
