Amaranthus caudatus--Love-Lies-Bleeding

Comments: This large annual can be used as a dried flower.
The red flowers are individually small but are borne in
long, narrow, finger-like clusters (Vis. 1). Some of the
clusters will branch and droop providing a cascade of dark
red. Provide a sunny growing area. Amaranthus will
tolerate some dryness.
Propagation: Seed
Cultivars:
'Green Thumb' - Long lasting spikes of bright green.
'Love Lies Bleeding' - Flower clusters may be 2 feet
long.
'Pigmy Torch' - Erect spikes of maroon flowers.
'Viridis' - Long, bright green clusters.
