Alstroemeria aurantiaca--Peruvian Lily
Height: 4 ft Spacing: 10 in
Type: tender bulb
Flowers: Brown, orange, white, yellow
Comments: These tender bulbs can be left in the ground in
Zone 6 and warmer. Gardeners wishing to gamble in colder
zones may try protecting the bulbs with a winter mulch or
the plants can be grown in containers. The flowers are
marked with red or brown. Provide a sunny or lightly
shaded growing area and a well-drained soil or potting
mix. The roots are easily broken when handled. Plant the
roots about 10 inches deep. When the plants go dormant
they may be stored through the winter in peat moss or
vermiculite. The storage area should be quite cool,
usually around 40. Do not let the bulbs dry out.

also be used.
