Ornamental Plants plus Version 3.0 - 00000054
11/12/99

Aegopodium podagaria--Goutweed

Hardiness Zone: 3 to 9
Height: 1 ft Spacing: 9 in
Type: herbaceous perennial
Flowers: White

Comments: Goutweed is used as a ground cover but can
become a hard to control weed. The plant tolerates shade
and likes a moist soil. Divide in spring or fall. Where
nothing else will grow, this plant will be worth a try.
The flowers (Vis. 1) are not especially ornamental and may
make the plant look untidy.

Cultivars:
'Variegatum' - Green leaves are edged (Vis. 2) with
white.
