Abies koreana--Korean Fir

Height: 25 ft Spread: 10 ft Form: pyramidal
Type: narrow-leaved evergreen
Annual Growth Rate: less than 12 inches

Comments: Korean Fir produces cones (Vis. 2) when the tree
is quite small. The tree is reported to be heat tolerant.

Cultivars:
'Aurea' - The needles are yellow.
'Compact Dwarf' - A small shrub.
'Golden Dream' ('Goldener Traum') - A prostrate plant
with gold (Vis. 6) foliage.
'Horstmann's Silberlock' - The curved (Vis. 3) needles
display
the white undersides.
'Nanaimo' - A compact plant that produces purple cones
(Vis. 5) while still young.
'Piccolo' - Short, dark green needles are displayed on
pendulous branches. The plant grows slowly and does not
form a central leader.
'Prostrate Beauty' - A cultivar with a spreading, habit
and long needles.
'Silberzwerg' - A globe-shaped dwarf.
'Silver Show' - A slow-growing, spreading plant. The
leaves curl to show their white lower surfaces.
'Starker's Dwarf' - A dwarf, nest form (Vis.1) when young
but a mounding shape with age. The foliage is dark
green on the upper surface but lighter below (Vis. 4).
