Paraquat

List of files and visuals associated with this text.

(E.g. Gramoxone)

Applications of paraquat to adjacent areas can result in
leaf burn and spotting, especially with windy conditions,
poorly-directed nozzles or high spray pressure. Only the
tissue directly contacted by the herbicide will
demonstrate the symptoms of spot burn, and soybeans will
usually recover from this type of injury. (Vis. 1) If
Gramoxone is post-directed to soybeans while the lower
stems are still green, the herbicide can cause girdling of
the stem. This may result in lodging and stand reduction
as the plants mature.
