Brown Spot (Septoria glycines)
List of files and visuals associated with this text.
The disease occurs under warm, humid conditions
throughout the growing season. Small, irregular, dark,
brown spots and blotches appear on upper and lower leaf
surfaces (Vis. 1). Leaves quickly turn yellow and drop.
Progressing from lower to upper leaves (Vis. 2), the
pathogen is spread by wind-blown rain and survives in
crop debris and seeds. Dry weather usually halts the
spread of brown spot.
