Bacterial Blight (Pseudomonas syringae pv. glycinea)
List of files and visuals associated with this text.
The disease is common during cool, wet weather and is
most conspicuous about midseason. Angular, yellow to
light brown lesions or spots on leaves enlarge to produce
irregular dead tissue with yellow halos (Vis. 1). These
areas, which drop out, give a ragged appearance,
especially after strong winds and beating rains. Early
defoliation of lower leaves may occur. The pathogen
survives in crop debris and seeds.
