It is not uncommon for the soybean plant to abort up to
80% of its blooms and still attain a normal yield. In
cases when flower abortion is extensive, plants will
produce additional axillary flowers. Depending on
variety, planting date, and environmental conditions, the
normal flowering period is three to five weeks.(Vis. 1)
